Literature Text
Children's laughter in the morn,
so joyful, yet fills me with scorn.
For, by my hand and for my right,
Their laughter turns to screams tonight.
Blood for blood so easy shed,
it is my right, so simply said.
A father weeps to take his due.
To see the debt he did accrue.
He vainly tries to win it back,
Strength was all his arm did lack.
He falls down in the dirt and blood.
As I grind his corpse into the mud.
Suddenly I feel this was not the way,
I should not have take them today.
I look around, and see cold eyes.
To whom can I apologise?
Overwhelmed, I do what I deem best.
And sheathe my sword,
within my chest.
so joyful, yet fills me with scorn.
